We recently adopted a wonderful black mini.  He is 2 months old.  Our Vet ask if we wanted his ears cropped.  Is this something that we need to do?  I always thought that this procedure was done shortly after birth.  When is the best time to crop the ears?  Idea Face:

The Miniature Schnauzers ears are normally cropped between weeks 10 and 12. ? No, this is not necessary and is completely a matter of preference. ?Personally, we do not crop any of our puppies ears. ?The ears should not be cropped at an earlier age but some breeders are having the puppies ears done at the same time as their tails (3 days). ?We don't think so!

They can be done after week 10 to 12 but this ?then becomes more painfull as their ears are now becoming fully developed. ?This is why the ears are done at an earlier stage of development.

Your puppy is still in the preferred range for the best results. ? Thanks for the inquiry and we hope that this has answered your question.
