I have had two salt & pepper female Min. Schnauzers and loved them both so much that when I lost them I felt I couldn't go through that pain again. But a co-worker just purchased a puppy from your last litter and those old feelings of love have returned. Both of my dogs have had this problem that when they ate, their saliva caused a brown coloration on their hair around their mouth. Is there any way to remove those stains? Even my groomer couldn't get them off. I am considering getting another female Min. Schnauzer and I would be interested in knowing how to treat this problem myself.

Hi Pat, I noticed that we did not provide you with any information on Adoption. Your message gave me the idea you that you might be ready again. If so, please visit http://miniature-schnauzers.com/miniature-schnauzer-message-boards/index.php/board,28.0.htmland post a request for inclusion to the waiting list and any preferences that you might have. We will also need a Master Match Application filled out as well at http://www.miniature-schnauzers.com/miniature-schnauzers-master-match-profile.html.
Hope to hear from you soon. There currently more people on our waiting list then we will have puppies when the July Litter Arrives but people do change their minds and no one is as yet put down any deposits, FYI.
Thanks

My husband and I just discovered a great way to remove the brown coloration on the beard by at least 85-90%.
We have a white mini, so the brown tends to stand out more. We used an old spray bottle top cleaned in a bottle of peroxide. When bathing your schnauzer, spray the peroxide on the brown and rub it in. Let is sit for a minuet or so, then wash it out. IT totally dulls the brown, and it doesn't hurt your mini at all. Even if he/she were to lick it a little, it is pretty much harmless. Thought I would pass it on. Anything is better than nothing:)

Thank you for the update on this very common discoloration of the schnauzer beard.

Funny that you should post this message because we had just learned the same method about 3 weeks ago and have been testing it out on our schnauzers, it works.

Always nice to see someone post their experience as we hope someday to have many many new additions to these message boards for the canine enthusiast.
