Dear Steve and Janelle,

Monty is doing better than I would have hoped for in his adjustment.  He has grown so much since the time I picked him up.  He follows me around like I'm his "mother goose" and always one step right behind me.  I'm learning not to go directly backwards because I would accidently knock him over with my feet.  Monty had no problems learning to walk with a leash (took me by surprise) and doesn't wander too far from Mommy.  Also, Monty has learned the style of my shoes and loves to sleep right in between my feet.

He loves to play around with his english bulldog brother, Hulk (who incidently was born on the same day as Monty, March 28).  Monty runs back to me during his playtime with Hulk for reassurance, though he can hold his own quite nicely.

We'll have a few more pictures up shortly.  

Monty and Hulk are getting about half of their potty sessions outside.  We are still keeping an eye on them to make sure they know not to make a mess inside.  Jose and I will be enrolling these two in puppy schooling within the next couple of days.

I would like to thank you again for allowing me to adopt such a wonderful puppy.

Dear Steve and Janelle,

Monty is doing great and says hello.  He's enjoying the high life with his brother, Hulk, and his dad, Jose.  Monty still loves being a momma's boy.  Monty and Hulk started their puppy training and are the top students.  Potty training has improved greatly from the time I brought Monty home and he's learning to go outside more often.  He and Hulk have made some friends and love to make new ones in the neighborhood.  Everyone we encounter just think Monty and Hulk are adorable.

Hello Emily, Jose, Monty and Hulk.

Glad to hear that everything is well with your two new babies.

We were wondering about when these puppies are having indoor accidents.  Is it when your home or during the day when you are working, or both?

Are they doing this right in front of you or are you just finding the accidents?  We are just trying to understand when and under what circumstances this is happenning.

Do you actually know which of these puppies if not both are having problems with the outdoor routine?  This is unusual for us to learn about because our puppies typically only experience 2 or 3 accidents during the first week or two after adoption.

Let us know and we can then offer some possible solutions to help with their training.  Remember that with any child being consistent is the quickest solution to correcting behavior and completing their training.  Our initial thoughts without having additional information is that they require more personal attention when you are home in direct relation to this problem.  Your actions must be consistent and immediate.

Steve and Janelle,

Hulk is mainly having the indoor accidents (outside of their excercise pen).  This usually happens when he's outside his pen and we can't see him.  When we do catch Hulk in the act, we immediately take him outside to finish.  Monty hasn't had any accidents lately that we noticed and I happen to witness him going outside to relieve himself.  But overall, we have them on a set feeding schedule and take them out afterwards.

Hi Steve and Janelle,

Monty just got his first haircut today.  He looks fabulous.  People will no longer mistake Monty for an ordinary terrier or a poodle!
